SPORTS DAY 2008
Sports Day will include a circuit of activities which will take place in the yards, classroom and P.E. Hall.
Teams to be arranged before leaving the classroom. For the circuit of
activities to run smoothly , please note the following:
(1) Each class may compete in each of the activities and have time on the bouncing castle. If time allows, please feel free to arrange other games for your class (lists enclosed).
(2)Each activity area must be left in order and the equipment laid
out as found before moving on to the next activity.
(3) Follow the activities in alphabetical order from where you start.

Each activity has the equipment necessary laid out at each area.
Please make sure to leave it ready for the next class.
Each class is also timetabled for the bouncing castle.
A. Water Buckets
Equipment: plastic cups and water buckets, large bin of water.
Each team is given a white plastic cup. This is used to fill a plastic
bucket. Each team member takes a turn to fill the cup and runs to
the bucket and pours in the water. The team with the most water
in
a bucket wins. Each team member has two ‘go’s’ . The quantity in
each bucket is measured and the teacher sees which group has the most water in their bucket.
B. Hopping Hoopla
Equipment : Hoola Hoop rings and 4 beanbags of each colour red, blue, green, yellow.
A path of hoola hoop rings is laid out. Each team chooses a colour. Each member hops in the ring on the path to reach the beanbags at the end where they pick up the beanbag and hop back to the start. The first team to hop home with all four beanbags wins.
C. Timed Jigsaw making.
Equipment: Jigsaws laid out on tables.
Three teams compete simultaneously to complete a
jig-saw. The teacher will see who finishes first.
D. Bib Relay
Equipment: 4 bibs of the same colour for each team
Each team lines up one behind the other. 4 bibs of the same
Colour are set a suitable distance away. Then the first member of the
team runs up , puts on a bib and runs back and touches the 2nd
member of the team who runs up and repeats the process. The
first team to have all members dresses in bibs wins.
E.Tunnel Ball
Equipment : 2 footballs. Each team stands in line one behind the other feet apart forming a tunnel under their legs. The ball is passed back through the tunnel and the person last in line picks it up and runs to the front of the line and passes it back through the tunnel..until all players have been to the front of the line twice. The leader of the team then runs and gives the ball to the teacher. First team there wins.
F.Obstacle Course
Two children may perform this circuit simultaneously.
1 : Jump through hoops and run.
2 : Sidewards roll on the mat.
3 : Bounce bat on ball to the cones where they drop bat and ball.
4 : Run in zig-zag fashion around the cones.
5 : Pick up basketball at cone and take two shots each.
6 : Creep across benches lying on tummy.
7 : Pick up ball and throw into net.
Run to end.
